Terms of Use

Last updated

These terms apply when you use webiptool.com, its tools, and its API (“the service”). By using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

What the service is

WebIPTool shows information about your internet connection, provides network reference tools, and publishes guides. It is offered free of charge for general information.

Accuracy

We work to keep the tools and guides correct, but the service is provided for information only.

  • Location data is approximate. IP geolocation is an estimate based on third-party data. It often points to a provider’s equipment, not to a person or address. Do not rely on it to identify or locate anyone.
  • Network data can be out of date. Provider and network details come from third parties and may lag behind reality.
  • Guides are general. They explain concepts and common setups. They are not professional advice for your specific network, and they are not legal advice.

Check anything important against an authoritative source before acting on it.

Acceptable use

You may use the service for personal and commercial purposes, as long as you do not:

  • send automated requests at a rate that exceeds the published limits, or try to get around those limits
  • point automated tools, monitors, or scripts at the web pages. Automated requests must use the plain endpoints described on the API page, which exist for that purpose
  • use the service to harass anyone, to attempt to identify or locate an individual, or to support any unlawful activity
  • attempt to disrupt the service, probe it for vulnerabilities without permission, or interfere with other users
  • misrepresent the service as your own, or remove attribution required by our data providers

We may limit or block access that breaks these rules or that puts the service at risk.

The API

The API is free to use and needs no key. It is provided as is, with no guarantee of availability. Limits and response formats are described on the API page and may change. Please build in sensible error handling, and respect 429 responses and the Retry-After header.

Content and trademarks

The text, diagrams, design, and code of this site belong to WebIPTool unless stated otherwise. You may quote short passages with a link back. Please do not republish whole guides.

Data returned by the tools comes from third parties and remains subject to their terms. Where a provider requires attribution, it is shown with the result.

Names of other companies and products mentioned on the site belong to their owners and are used only to identify them.

The service relies on third parties, including Cloudflare for hosting and DNS data, IPinfo for IP address data, and Google for advertising. Their services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

Guides link to external sites for reference. We are not responsible for their content.

Advertising

The site displays advertising. Ads are provided by third parties and are labeled. We do not endorse advertised products or services.

Privacy

How the service handles data is described in the Privacy Policy.

No warranty

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and uninterrupted availability, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, WebIPTool and its owner are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the service or from reliance on the information it provides.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law
